2019 has brought many changes at Happening. In 2020, we can definitely say that we’ll blow your mind because we’ll stay committed to our resolutions all year long!
Sustainable development
Pascal Desharnais, our president, has been selected to be a part of the Parcours développement durable Montréal 2019. For him and the whole team, it was important to take part in this process in order to become a key player in sustainable development.
Some changes have already been made such as:
- printing visuals on recyclable and/or reusable materials instead of single-use materials;
- custom-made furniture created for reuse;
- using only reusable water bottles at the office;
- using more eco-friendly cleaning products;
- using local rather than exotic flowers and plants to limit the impact of transportation;
- addressing eco-responsibility concerns in early stage of their project with our customers.
To highlight our commitment to this Parcours, we have written a Sustainable Development Charter, available here.
In 2019, the company donated to the CARBONE BORÉAL organization the equivalent of 100,000 km of transportation by truck, representing 32 tonnes of C02. The idea is to compensate for the material transportation we do each year. We’ll definitely do it again this year!
Our office is also a source of inspiration
We also wanted to express our artistic side within our premises. Therefore, we decided to revamp our showroom in order to inspire not only our staff, but also everyone who will come to visit us! A complete makeover is in progress to inspire for creativity.

Exceeding expectations with customization
We all know the decor is key to make your event memorable and there’s only one way to reach your expectations: it has to be unique. That’s the reason why we have an entire team dedicated to our custom-made decors. They can create whatever you have dreamed of and our main mantra is : think outside the box. A few words from the team
We did things a little different this year. We asked the team what their 2020 resolutions for Happening are. The most popular answer was to work on fun mandates with smiling clients… because where there is fun, there is creativity! A friendly work environment reduces the stress level as well as increases efficiency. Let’s go team, customers and employees, 2020 is gonna be our year!
In a perfect world, we would like to be a ZERO WASTE company. But in 2020, it’s not as easy as we would think because :
- composting collect service is not provided everywhere in Montreal;
- offices still require a lot of paper;
- events are not easy to transform either.
However, we’re not giving up, and we’re looking to get as close to it as possible. As mentioned above, actions have already been set in motion.
